A care center is located in each borough to assist the public and local governments with abandoned dogs. Animal Care and Control receives calls during the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. After 5 p.m. calls should be directed to the local police precinct.

Call 311 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., contact your local police precinct.
Report the location of the abandoned dog.
Provide a detailed description of the dog to assist Animal Care and Control with locating the dog.
