Things You'll Need
- Paper towels
- Newspapers
- Wet/dry vacuum
- Pet odor neutralizer
Instructions
Fold several clean paper towels into a thick stack. Place the paper towels on top of the damp area. Fold several newspapers into a thick stack and place them on top of the paper towels. Stand on top of the stack for one minute. Repeat with fresh paper towels and newspapers -- until they no longer absorb urine.
Set the soiled paper towels and newspapers in the designated bathroom area for your dog. This will help reinforce where he is suppose to do his business.
Flush the area with cool water until the water runs clear. Extract the excess liquid from the carpet fibers with a wet/dry vacuum. Flushing the urine from the fibers will help remove odors and prevent the dog from resoiling the area. Extract the liquid from the fibers with a wet/dry vacuum in the same manner as before.
Apply a pet odor neutralizer to the area. Read and follow all directions and warnings printed on the odor neutralizer's instructions. Allow the pet odor neutralizer air dry on the surface. The product will neutralize any enzymes or proteins left behind from the urine and help reduce the chance of resoiling.
