How to Make Your Own Dog Wedding Treats

Pets are often considered an integral part of the family, and are included in more and more activities. It is not uncommon for a pair of dog lovers who are getting married to include not only their dogs, but to invite other dogs and owners, as well. To include the pooch set at a wedding, consider baking a batch of dog treats to give as favors. Even if other owners choose not to bring their dogs, they will appreciate being able to take a treat home with them.

Instructions

    • 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • 2

Place the warm water in a large bowl and sprinkle the yeast over it. Set it aside to let the yeast activate.

    • 3

Heat the potatoes, milk, peanut butter, molasses, and chicken stock in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Once the mixture is thoroughly combined, remove it from the heat and let cool to room temperature.

    • 4

Add to yeast mixture. Gradually add the egg, whole wheat, rye, and rice flours. Mix well. Slowly add the white flour a little at a time until you have a stiff dough.

    • 5

Sprinkle flour on a work surface. Take the dough out of the bowl and place it on the floured surface. Knead well.

    • 6

Use the rolling pin and roll the dough out until it is about 1/2-inch thick. Use the cookie cutters to cut out biscuits. Place the cut-outs on ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them about 1/4-inch apart. Re-roll scraps to cut more treats.

    • 7

Bake for 40-45 minutes. Cool overnight, then either freeze or package the treats.
