Things You'll Need
- Shovel
- Sod
- Water
- Urine stain grass treatment
Instructions
Remove damaged areas of grass and re-sod or replant them. Perennial ryegrass and fescue are more urine-resistant so re-sod with these grasses, if possible.
Prevent your dog from urinating in various places in the yard and causing damage by designating a section for the dog to do its business. Place previous waste on the desired area or take your dog to this specific area to get it acquainted with the spot.
Add water to the affected area immediately after the dog urinates to help dilute the urine concentration in the area. Apply approximately three times the amount of water to urine in affected areas.
Obtain a commercial urine stain grass treatment and apply the product to your grass to help prevent damage to the grass.
Have your dog drink plenty of water to dilute the urine, which will prevent the urine from damaging the grass too much.
