Grave Marker
-
Grave markers are an option if you've buried your dog in the back yard or at a pet cemetery. There are grave markers made of stone or resin specifically for pets. There are markers for all budgets and you can spend as much or as little as you want. They come in both upright and horizontal models. You can customize the marker with the dog's name, the years that she lived, a saying or poem, and even a picture.
Urn
-
If you opted to have your pet cremated you can store his ashes in a decorative urn or container. Urns can be customized with plaques and/or photographs of your pet. Some containers are made to look decorative in an indoor setting on a shelf or mantle while others are shaped like natural stones and can be placed outdoors (if placed outdoors remember to take the pet's ashes if you move).
Memory Box
-
A memory box contains treasured keepsakes of your pet. You can use it to store the dog's collars or tags, favorite toys, photographs, and other objects that remind you of your faithful friend. Memory boxes come in all shapes and sizes to fit your decor. Some memory boxes have a frame on the lid for a picture of your pet or you can even make your own memory box as a project.
Garden Feature
-
Instead of a grave stone a garden feature such as a memorial bench, statue, or personalized stepping stone engraved with the dog's name can be placed over the grave, or you can opt to plant a tree or bush on the site. Seeing the tree or sitting on the bench will give you happy thoughts of the times your dog spent romping in the garden.

Dog Memorial Ideas
Eventually every dog owner will face the time when their faithful pet is no longer with them. When your dog passes away it doesn't mean you have to forget them. You can set up a memorial for your pet indoors or outdoors to remind you of the times you shared together.
