How to Plan a Perfect Dog Party

Dogs are often considered a part of the family by their owners. Similar to throwing parties for a child, dog owners often throw parties for their dogs. Dog parties include fun and creative locations, doggy food treats, fun games for the dogs and lots of doggy friends (canine and human). It is important to properly plan your dog's party because while the canine guests at your party will not notice all the details, you human friends and family will enjoy every little detail of the party. A dog party is a great way to get your local community of dogs together for a fun event.

Find an outdoor location for your party. Since the party is for a dog and his doggy friends, they should have enough space to run around, exercise and have fun at the same time. The party can take place at a local park (or doggy park), your backyard or any other outdoor, open space. The open space will allow you to plan for outdoor activities such as a dog race or an obstacle course. You can set up tunnels for the dogs to go through and objects for the dogs to fetch or play with. Make sure you keep plenty of dog treats handy as a treat for the dogs.

Prepare some food appetizing for the dogs. Purchase some meat, bread and vegetables, and make some burgers for the dogs. These foods work for most doggy diets. In addition, you can look up recipes to cook for the dogs. During the party, you and your friends can cook some of the recipes and feed your pets. You can also bake a cake or cupcakes for the dogs. Doggy cakes and cupcakes recipes usually include foods such as bacon, peanut butter, baby food, bananas and nuts. If you know each dog's favorite snack, you can even incorporate that into individual cupcakes for each doggy guest.

Make doggy bags so the party continues even after your event is over. Buy doggy toys and doggy treats for the bags. The dogs will enjoy the toys and the treats, and the pet owners will be grateful for the gift, especially since toys help keep the dogs occupied. If you have the budget, you can also buy or make cute little dog collars or an article of doggy clothing as a gift for your doggy guests. Individualize the doggy collar by including the dog's name on the collar.
