Instructions

    • 1

Purchase from a craft store a wooden box with enough capacity to hold your pet's ashes.

    • 2

Rub the wood box down with fine sandpaper until all surfaces are smooth and even.

    • 3

Wipe the wooden box with a soft cloth to remove all dust. Make sure you get the dust that has settled into the four inside corners.

    • 4

Stain the wooden box with a color of your choosing. Allow the stain to fully dry for one day before continuing.

    • 5

With a pencil lightly write any dates, quotes or names on the box.

    • 6

Engrave the penciled-in information with a dremel-tool or a wood-burning tool. If you are uncomfortable trying to engrave the box yourself, take it to a professional engraver.

    • 7

Cut out any pictures you want to laminate onto your urn, and position them on the surface of the urn.

    • 8

Flip one picture over at a time, cover the backside with wood glue, and flip the picture over again.

    • 9

Press all pictures firmly onto the wood and allow them to dry for one day before continuing.

    • 10

Spray a clear acrylic coat over the entire box. Wait one day before flipping the urn over to spray the bottom. Allow all sides to dry before placing your pet's ashes in the urn.
