Dog Shows in New Hampshire

There are several well-known national dog shows such as the Westminster Kennel Club's annual show or the American Kennel Club/Eukanuba National Championship. These events are televised across the United States and capture the hearts of many dog-lovers. Show dogs just getting a start in the arena should consider local events. Local kennel clubs often hold regional or state-wide dog shows. There are several dog shows held throughout in New Hampshire.
  1. Carroll County Kennel Club's "All Breed Dog Show"

    • The Carroll County Kennel Club, in North Conway, is a member of the American Kennel Club (AKC) and adheres to AKC guidelines and regulations. The Carroll County Kennel Club holds an annual "All Breed" dog show in early September. The two day event includes rally trials, obedience trials, breed conformation and "Best In Show." The event also includes a Puppy Gala with a "Best Puppy in Show."

      Carroll County Kennel Club works to educate owners and breeders of purebred dogs and encourage responsible dog ownership. The Club provides obedience training, Canine Good Citizen classes and conformation handling classes. Carroll County Kennel Club welcomes new members and meets monthly on the third Monday.

    Souhegan Kennel Club's "All Breed Match"

    • Souhegan Kennel Club, in southern New Hampshire, is licensed by the AKC as an "All Breed" kennel club. The club holds two shows per year, one in the spring and one in the fall. The spring "All-Breed Match" is open to all dogs that are AKC registered and older than three months old. The match allows beginners to practice ring skills while competing. The fall "All Breed Match" is also open to all dogs older than three months and registered with the AKC. The show includes breed conformation, a "Canine Good Citizen" test, obedience matches and several breed-specific matches.

      Souhegan Kennel Club strives to both learn and educate, promoting responsible dog ownership and responsible breeding. Monthly Club meetings are held monthly on the third Wednesday and include guest speakers and educational discussions. The Club welcomes members ages 18 and older.

    Middlesex County Kennel Club Dog Shows

    • Middlesex County Kennel Club is a Massachusetts-based, AKC-affiliated kennel club which holds several events and dog shows throughout the year at the American K9 Country in Amherst, New Hampshire. Events include agility trials, obedience trials and all breed dog shows. Events are open to all breeds that are recognized by the AKC.
