Take your pet to see a veterinarian. Mange mite treatment requires medication. A veterinarian can assess how badly the mange mites are infecting your pet and the medication to give.

    • 2

Isolate your pet from other pets while it is going through treatment. Some treatments require multiple doses of medication until all the mange mites are dead. It is important to keep the mites from spreading from one animal to another.

    • 3

Create a solution of equal parts bleach and warm water. Use a sponge or scrub brush to clean the areas your pet frequents most often. If some areas are carpeted, use color-safe bleach to avoid creating bleach stains.

Gather all of your pet's bedding and wash thoroughly. Add bleach to the wash cycle to kill all the mange mites. If the infestation is extreme, wrap the bedding up, seal it in a garbage bag and place it outside for the trash.
