How to Remove Dog Hair From Blankets

Dogs can be wonderful companions and loyal friends. In many homes, they are considered one of the family. And just like other family members, sometimes our canine pets can make a mess of the house. Shedding hair is a common problem that can be left around the house by dogs. Carpet, upholstery and bedding are common collectors of shedding dog hair. Blankets can also be a favorite collection point, especially if your dog enjoys curling up in one that is placed in a favorite spot. There are many methods of removing dog hair from blankets when simple laundering won't do the trick.

Instructions

  1. Rubber Glove

    • 1

Place a rubber glove on your hand.

    • 2

Thoroughly wet the glove under a running faucet.

    • 3

Run the hand with the wet rubber glove over the blanket with your palm flat. The moisture will force the dog hair to clump and ball up.

    • 4

Pick the dog hair clumps off the blanket.

    Fabric Softener Sheets

    • 5

Using a fabric softener sheet, rub it along the surface area of the blanket.

    • 6

Discard sheet as needed as it fills with dog hair.

    • 7

      Repeat steps as needed.

    Tape and Lint Roller

    • 8

Wrap tape around lint roller so it covers the surface with the sticky side out.

    • 9

Roll the blanket with the tape-covered lint roller, covering the whole surface.

    • 10

Remove and discard tape as needed as it fills with dog hair.
