Things You'll Need
- Paper towel Spray bottle Water Baking soda Vacuum Club soda Nontoxic cleaner (optional)
Instructions
Pet vomit is very acidic and can stain fabrics quickly. Scoop up any solid particles with a paper towel. Spray water on the stain to loosen any stuck particles and remove them with the paper towel.
Coat the stain with a light layer of baking soda. This will help remove the stain and neutralize the odor. Let it dry completely.
Using a vacuum attachment, vacuum the stained area.
Spray a light mist of water on the stain and sprinkle a layer of baking soda on the stain again. Let the area dry completely and vacuum.
Pour club soda on the stained area and blot with paper towels.
If the area is still stained or has an odor, try using a nontoxic cleaner with odor neutralizer that is specially formulated for pets. When using this type of cleaner, be sure to give it enough time to penetrate the stains--usually about 10 minutes.
