How to Get Dog Hair Off Material Car Seats

Transporting your dog in your car or truck can have negative effects to the upholstery. Dog hair has a tendency to stick to fabrics and cleaning can be difficult if you lack the proper tools. Acting appropriately to prevent dog hair from accumulating in your car will circumvent an unsightly mess.

Instructions

Wipe your car or trucks upholstery down with a special soot sponge to remove the dog hair. A soot sponge is tremendously effective due to its rubber-like composition that pulls pet hair from the fabric.

    • 2

Wear a rubber glove and wet it with water. Run your hand over the car seats to pull up the unwanted hair. You may need to rinse off the glove frequently depending on how severely the upholstery is covered.

    • 3

Use the adhesive side of packing tape and blot the hair-covered areas of your car's upholstery. Wrapping the packing tape around your hand, with the adhesive side up, is effective in removing the dog hair.

Wipe down your car seat with fabric softener sheets. The anti-static properties of a fabric softener sheet will loosen the animal hair from the fabric and cause it to stick to the fabric sheet instead.
