Instructions
Clean up any stain substance found on the couch, such as vomit or fecal matter, by scraping it up with a spatula and placing the substance in a trash bag.
Pour baking soda over the sight of any stain and allow the baking soda to soak up liquid from the stain. Remove soiled baking soda and add fresh baking soda. Allow the last application of baking soda to sit for at least two hours.
Vacuum the baking soda from the couch, then vacuum the entire couch to remove dog hair, which contributes to the smell.
Sprinkle baking soda over the entire surface of the couch. Work the baking soda into the fibers of the upholstery by scrubbing it in with a dry scrub brush. Allow the baking soda to sit on the couch overnight to absorb dog odors, then remove the baking soda the next morning using the vacuum.
Combine equal parts of water and white vinegar in a spray bottle. Apply the vinegar solution liberally to any remaining areas of your couch that have dog smell. Let the vinegar spray sit for 10 minutes before blotting it up with clean cloths.
Treat difficult-to-remove dog smells on your couch with pet odor neutralizer. Sprinkle the neutralizer on the smelly areas and allow it to sit for an hour before vacuuming it off. The pet odor neutralizer has enzymes that break down and absorb dog smells.
