Things You'll Need
- Garden hose
- Bucket
- White vinegar
- Warm water
- Scrub brush
- Pet odor spray
Instructions
Walk around the yard and try to identify where the urine odor is coming from. Sometimes you will be able to narrow it down to a specific spot, such as a yellow area on the grass. Other times, you will only be able to identify a general area by the odor.
Turn on a garden hose and saturate the areas of urine completely to remove as much of the smell as possible. Soaking the area with water has the added effect of helping to save your grass if the urine is on the lawn.
Fill a bucket with one part white vinegar and three parts warm water.
Pour the vinegar solution onto the area that contains the urine smell to remove the smell. If it is a hard surface such as a driveway, scrub the surface using a scrub brush and rinse it off with a garden hose.
Allow the area to dry and then spray it with an odor neutralizing product designed to remove pet odors. These products break down the enzymes which create the smell and will eliminate any residual odor.
