Things You'll Need
- 1/3 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup water
- Spray bottle
- Cleaning cloths
- Baking soda
- Small bowls
- Dish washing detergent
Instructions
Combine the vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spritz this in rooms with dog odor as a natural air freshener.
Spray the source of any dog accidents in your home using the vinegar solution. Allow the vinegar and water to sit on the stain for a few minutes.
Blot up the vinegar solution and any dog urine stains and odors. Use absorbent, clean cloths and change cloths frequently. Continue to blot until all liquid has transferred to the cloths.
Place small bowls of baking soda in rooms that are affected by dog odor. Set them at a safe height so your dog doesn't try to eat the baking soda. Leave the bowls of baking soda in the affected rooms for up to a week before changing to fresh baking soda.
Sprinkle baking soda on carpet and upholstery that has been cleaned with the vinegar solution. Pour a little bit of water and a few drops of dish washing liquid onto the baking soda. Work the ingredients into the fibers of your carpet or upholstery to remove any remaining odor or stain. Allow the paste to dry fully.
Vacuum up the dried baking soda paste.
