- Pet deodorizer
Instructions
Attend to the accident as promptly as possible. Place a towel over the urine to soak it up.
Pour a glass of water over the spot to dilute the remaining urine.
Blot the area with paper towels. Lightly pat the paper towels to absorb the diluted urine. Replace the paper towel when it becomes saturated. Continue the process until the paper towels show no signs of yellow.
Clean the area with an enzyme cleaner. Urine contains bacteria and salts that give off a very pungent odor. Regular cleaners will not remove the odor or bacteria efficiently. Enzyme cleaners break down the bacteria and do a much better job. Always use an enzyme cleaner first. Scrub the area with a scrub brush. Regular cleaner may have a negative effect on enzyme cleaners that prevents them from doing their job effectively. If the accident is on a carpeted area, use a carpet cleaner to prevent or remove staining. Follow the instructions on the can for application and vacuuming.
Spray the area with a deodorizing agent, which you can buy at any pet store. This step is necessary to ensure that any residual scent does not attract your puppy back to the scene of the crime for a repeat.
