Instructions

    • 1

      Draw a hot bath.

    • 2

Place 1 cup plain dish detergent and 1 cup lemon extract in the water. The fatty acids in the dish soap and the limonene from the extract will kill adult fleas and flea larvae.

    • 3

Wash your hair with standard shampoo, and leave the shampoo in for 30 minutes. Soak in the bath during this time, keeping the water as hot as is tolerable by reheating periodically with hot water.

    • 4

Scrub your skin and hair thoroughly with an abrasive cloth or sponge, paying special attention to the areas between your toes and the back of your neck. Scrub the area of skin and the hairline immediately above the ears thoroughly.

    • 5

Comb your hair slowly from roots to tip while your hair is still wet. Place any fleas that appear on the comb inside a bowl of soapy water.

    • 6

Repeat the bathing steps twice a week until you don't find fleas.
