Animal Organization Grants

Animal welfare organizations are increasing in number due to more and more animals being taken to shelters, the increase in breed-specific legislation and the unfortunate prevalence of animal abuse and neglect. There are several grants available to help the individuals and groups who start these animal welfare organizations improve their efforts.
  1. Meacham Foundation Memorial Grant

    • The maximum Meacham Foundation Memorial Grant is $4,000 and may be applied toward any organization involved in improving equipment, educating through campaigns and helping animals in shelters. Examples of uses for the Meacham Foundation Memorial Grant would be kennel renovation, providing more comfortable accommodations for the animals; equipment upkeep, upgrades and improvements; capital campaigns and grant money toward spay and neutering and veterinary care.

    Animal Welfare Trust

    • The Animal Welfare Trust has 10 to 15 grants to give out each year. Their motto, "informing, inspiring and educating," explains the intention to give grants to organizations intending to change attitudes and public awareness for better conditions for animals and their well-being. Prior to applying, for the Animal Welfare Trust grant, send an email to [email protected]. The organization would first like to ensure the grant inquiry is one that falls within their guidelines before applicants fill out the entire application. Grants range from $2,500 to $20,000 and may be awarded for a single year or multiyear period, which is determined at the time of the grant acceptance.
