Traditional methods of cleaning brick, such as pressure washing, often make smells worse by driving them deeper into the brick. Fortunately, there is an easy method to remove dog urine smells from indoor brick.
Things You'll Need
- Enzymatic cleanser
- Old bath towels
- Sponge or mop and bucket (optional)
Instructions
If any urine remains puddled on the brick, wipe it completely away with the sponge or mop and bucket.
Thoroughly saturate all of the stained brick with the enzymatic cleanser, making sure to get it into the pores of the brick and all of the surrounding grout. When the cleanser begins to pool on top of the brick, it is enough.
Soak an old bath towel in the enzymatic cleanser. Spread it over the stained brick, patting it down gently (without squeezing the liquid out of it) so that the towel is in contact with the entire surface.
Leave the towel to dry in place. This can take anywhere from one day to one week, depending on the relative humidity of the room. Keep dogs and children away from the area while the towel is drying.
When the towel is dry, pick it up and check the brick for any residual smell. If any smell remains, ask staff at a home center to suggest other products that might be effective.
