How to Rid Dog Urine Out of the Garage Concrete Floor

Everyone who has a dog knows that accidents can happen, and usually happen on carpets or hardwood floors. Sometimes a dog might urinate on concrete such as in a garage, and it is often thought that it will be easier to get out than from carpet. The problem is, concrete absorbs liquid, and it will absorb the urine and the smell. If the concrete gets wet, the urine that soaked in will begin smelling once again. Getting dog urine out of concrete takes a bit of work but can be accomplished.

Make a mixture of one part vinegar to two parts water, pour this on the stain, and use your brush broom to scrub the stain. Rinse the area with water. Allow the floor to absorb the water, and dry thoroughly.

Purchase Simple Solution from a pet store or online. It comes in small bottles and gallon containers; if you have a number of urine stains, you may opt for the gallon size. Do not dilute the mixture; use it full strength. Pour the Simple Solution generously on the urine stain. This product contains enzymes that break down the urine stain and smell. Use your brush broom to scrub the urine spots. Pour more additional Simple Solution on spots after you scrub them.

Do not remove the Simple Solution from the concrete; you want to leave it on and allow it to soak into the concrete where the urine is. This should dry overnight, and your garage will smell very fresh. By soaking in, the Simple Solution breaks down the urine and the smell deep inside the concrete, so if the concrete ever becomes wet, you will not smell urine.
