Things You'll Need
- Area Rugs
- Baby Gates
- Paper Towels
- Sponge Mop
- Hardwood Spot Cleaner
Instructions
Keep your dog accounted for when on the flooring. In other words, when you are home, he needs to be with you or at least where you can watch her to make sure she does not urinate on the floors.
Soak up any urine from your dog with a paper towel immediately, and then spray the area with a safe, nontoxic hardwood floor cleaner. Take a damp sponge mop and get all the urine off the floor. If the urine does not have a chance to soak in the wood, there probably will not be a stain.
Purchase one or more baby gates so that you can keep your dog off the hardwood floors when you are not home or if you cannot watch him. This great investment will save your floors from urine stains.
Shield any areas on your floors where your dog has urinated with area rugs having a rubber backing. Dogs tend to return to the area where they previously urinated, and while you do not want them to urinate on your area rug, it would be easier to clean than the hardwood floor.
