Instructions
Prepare a room in your home that is off limits to all pets. Most people choose their bedroom for this because this is where you sleep and it is very easy for dander to thrive in your bedding and mattresses. Of course, this is only a suggestion for pet owners. If you have an issue with dander and do not own a pet then remain pet free.
Change the air heating filters in your house frequently, a minimum of once per month is strongly suggested. Buy a vacuum that uses a HEPA filter because it eliminates more dander. An air purifier is excellent for reducing indoor dander.
Shampoo your carpet and upholstery as often as possible. When you dust your home be sure to always use some type of dusting agent or even a damp cloth as opposed to a dry dusting, which only stirs up the already settled dander.
Try not to use carpet, drapes or rugs since they will capture quite a bit of dander. If you must use these items then clean them often. Using the hottest water that the manufacturer will allow is the best way to eliminate dander.
Use dander-impermeable coverings on your mattress and pillows. Wash all of your bedding as much as you can by using hot water and laundry soap.
