How to Remove Dog Urine From Carpet With a Homemade Recipe

If you have a dog, especially a puppy, chances are it will eventually make a mess on your carpet. But don't go to the store to buy an expensive chemical cleaner. You can make your own stain remover at home on the cheap.

  • Rags or paper towels
  • White vinegar
  • Warm water
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Dish soap
  • Baking soda
  • Vacuum cleaner

Instructions

      Blot the urine stain with a clean paper towel or rag until all access liquid is absorbed.

      Mix 1/2 cup of white vinegar with 1 1/2 cups of warm water. Stir the mixture with a spoon and pour over the stain, letting it soak for five minutes.

      Blot the spot using a clean rag or paper towel until all excess liquid is absorbed.

      Shake baking soda over the stain. Do not remove the baking soda.

      Combine 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide with a 1 1/2 tsp. of dish soap. Slowly stir the two ingredients together, and slowly pour it over the stain.

      Use your fingers to rub the peroxide-soap mixture into the carpet fibers.

      Wait for the stain to fully dry, and then run a vacuum cleaner over the spot.
