Instructions
Remove all excess liquid from the carpet by blotting the affected area with a paper towel. Press gently to prevent pushing the stain further into the carpet.
Mix two cups of water and one cup of ammonia or vinegar and combine in a spray bottle. This mixture will neutralize the animal urine. Spray the solution over the stain, then remove the liquid by blotting a paper towel over the site. Repeat this step until the blotted liquid on your paper towel no longer looks yellow.
Mix two cups of water and two tablespoons of bleach-free dish washing soap and combine in a spray bottle. Spray the solution onto the carpet to remove any remaining stains, then blot it up with a towel. Do not rub hard or you will risk damaging the carpet.
Pour no more than one cup of warm water over the stained area to remove any excess soap, then soak up the water with a towel. You can repeat this step if you still see suds remaining on the carpet.
Let the carpet dry for 1 to 2 hours.
