Call local and distant animal shelters (see resource box) to see if the Pit Bull is a breed that is surrendered regularly and how they deal with the surrenders.

Contact other rescue groups for this breed of dog and learn what they do and how they work with other groups. See the resource box for a list of rescue groups by state and breed. Contact the National Kennel Club for Bull dogs in Central Wyoming to establish yourself as a Pitt Bull rescue. The person in charge is Kay Bramson at (307) 234-8689 in Casper. You need to have secure accommodations for each dog.
