Instructions
Take your dog's measurements. Begin by measuring around the legs, neck and chest. Remember that most dogs will eventually figure out how to "remove" their new sweater or shirt if the shirt is uncomfortable or limits their ability to move freely.
Get your material. You can buy t-shirt material anywhere. If you have an old stretchable cotton sheet, you can use this as well. You might also consider using your own old t-shirts.
Draw out the basic pattern for your dog t-shirt on paper. Carefully follow the measurements you have already taken of your dog. Remember that it is extremely important to allow for larger leg holes and a loose fit in general, especially since a dog's weight can fluctuate.
Cut out the pieces according to the pattern, and sew them together on your sewing machine. Add an elastic band at the top and bottom, and around the sleeves.
Print out a cool iron-on logo or your dog's name, and iron it on to the shirt.
