How to Rescue a Shih Tzu in Scotland

A shih tzu is a very nice small dog that makes a wonderful companion. They are very well suited to anybody who lives in an apartment or flat and doesn't have enough space for a larger breed.

Instructions

    • 1

Select the rescue that is closest to your home. There are currently four shih tzu rescues in the Scotland. They are Home Counties Shih Tzu Rescue, North East Shih Tzu Rescue, Southern Shih Tzu Rescue and the Shih Tzu Rescue.

    • 2

Fill out the rescues application fee and find out if the rescue you are dealing with requires a home inspection before they allow you to choose a dog.

    • 3

Spend some time getting to know the shih tzu that you are hoping to adopt. The more time you spend with the dog before officially adopting it, the more comfortable you will be with your choice.

    • 4

Prepare to bring your new dog home from the rescue. You should have already purchased dog dishes, dog food, a bed, collars and leashes before you bring the dog home.

    • 5

Take a day or two off of work to spend with your dog. The more time you spend with your new dog when you first bring it home, the less stressed you dog will be.
