How to Catch Fleas

How to catch a flea naturally is not something most people know, but it is much safer than using harsh chemicals when there are young children present in the home. You can give a dog a flea dip to rid them of fleas, but fleas also live in the carpet and this method gets those fleas out of the carpet.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug in a small night light in an outlet that is a foot or two off the ground. The night light draws the fleas that jump towards the light at night.

    • 2

Place a small disposable bowl half filled with water on the carpet beneath the night light. Add a couple of squirts of dish soap into the water and stir it around. This water bowl is tempting for children and dogs but it is safe for either if they drink it accidentally drank or spill it.

    • 3

Let the small disposable bowls remain underneath the night light overnight and flush the water full of drowned fleas in the toilet the next morning. Your carpet should be rid of fleas, but it might be a good idea to repeat the procedure for two or three nights, just to make sure.
