Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a dog door that is the appropriate size for your dog. Although there are specialty dog doors made for wall installation, you don't need to purchase one as any dog door will work. Doors for small dogs will fit between wall studs.

    • 2

Use the template that comes with your kit to mark on the wall where you want the dog door to be placed.

    • 3

Cut the drywall away from the interior using the keyhole saw. Remove any insulation.

    • 4

Go outside and use the template to determine where to cut away the exterior wall. Make measurements from the inside to help you align the outside door. Cut away the exterior wall.

    • 5

Frame the hole using scrap lumber. Caulk the gaps to ensure your home stays weather safe.

    • 6

Install the dog door as the instructions state, screwing the interior portion to the interior wall and the exterior frame to the exterior of your home. Fill any gaps with insulation and caulk.
