How to Remove Dog Urine

Although dog urine does not usually have as strong an odor as cat urine, it is not a smell anyone enjoys. The stains and odor that go along with these accidents can be removed by following this process.

Instructions

    • 1

Act quickly. This makes it both easier to clean and less likely to permanently set.

    • 2

Absorb as much of the urine as possible with either paper towels or a clean towel you use as a rag. Blot at the urine to pick it up instead or rubbing, as this can cause further damage.

    • 3

Rinse the area with either water or club soda. Use about eight ounces to dilute the urine.

    • 4

Blot the liquid until the paper towels or rag until you no longer pick up the yellow tint. Do this by starting on the outside and moving in to prevent spreading the urine.

    • 5

Soak up the remaining liquid with towels or using a wet/dry vacuum.

    • 6

Spray the spot with an odor eliminator/neutralizer specifically made as an enzyme inhibitor for pet urine. Follow the package instructions.

    • 7

Dry with a cloth or paper towels thoroughly and vacuum.
