What is an anhinga?
Anhinga (/'æn.hɪŋ.gə/, US: /əˈnɪŋ.gə/) refers to several waterbird species of the genera Anhinga and Anhinga from the darter family. They are closely related and quite similar to the other members of the order _Suliformes_ - cormorants, boobies, and gannets, along with other _darters_. As they have no external nostrils, darters cannot smell.
