How do you describe an beagle?

The beagle is a small scent hound, originally bred for hunting. Beagles are friendly, lively and curious by nature. Beagles have distinctive big and slightly droopy ears and large feet; the large ears help trap smells close to the nose, and their large feet make for efficient propulsion and help keep their scent low to the ground. They are white/buff/brown or chocolate tri-colored coats are often thought to look quite smart.

Their size varies:

- Smaller than 13 inches

-13 or more inches, but less than 15 inches; or

- 15 inches or higher at the shoulders.
