How can you tell how paraketts are male or female?

There is a noticeable difference in the color and shape of male and female parakeets' cere, which is the small fleshy patch below their nostrils. Male parakeets usually have a deep violet or bright blue cere, while female parakeets typically have a pale blue, whitish, or brown cere.

Additionally, the female cere may have a white ring or outline around it. These observations, however, are not 100% reliable as some exceptions exist.
