Was sitting on a log.
He wagged his sodden tail
And gave a feeble wail.
Raindrops tumbled down
And made the puddles frown.
The dog looked at the rain,
Then yawned and wagged again.
The rain persisted still
And started down the hill
The dog got up to flee,
But slipped upon the lea.
He howled and squirmed around,
Then fell into a swound.
The rain stopped, the sun was out.
The dog sat licking his snout.
He shook himself and stood,
And looked as fine as mud.
Then bounded off with glee
As happy as could be
