  1. How to Make a Gorilla Habitat

    • 1

Designate a grassy area with rolling hills for the gorilla's habitat and encircle the area with high concrete walls. Gorillas can become over 6 feet tall so make sure that the gorilla is not able to crawl over the walls.

    • 2

Plant an excessive amount of trees, shrubs and plants that soak up rain water. Deciduous trees are found in the gorilla's natural habitat, and they enjoy hanging on them. Plants are nutritious for the gorillas, and they also hydrate them. Remember to keep the trees away from the cement walls.

    • 3

Place tree stumps and rocks where gorillas can sit or rest. They might find these areas ideal for napping or eating. Or hay can be put down in certain areas where the gorilla might want to rest.

    • 4

Attach ropes to trees and put balls and other toys in the habitat to keep the gorilla entertained. Gorillas are intelligent and enjoy discovering objects.

    • 5

Dig an area out for a watering hole where gorillas can congregate. This is where they can groom and socialize. The watering hole may need filled up with water every so often. A liner can also be put on the ground to prevent the water from leaking into the soil so quickly.
