Woolly mammoths (Mammuthus primigenius), one of the well-known species, could reach heights of up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) at the shoulder and lengths of around 6 meters (19.7 feet) from trunk to tail. Their weight could range between 4 to 8 tonnes (8,800 to 17,600 pounds).
Columbian mammoths (Mammuthus columbi) were even larger, with heights reaching up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) at the shoulder and lengths of around 8 meters (26.2 feet). They could weigh up to 10 to 12 tonnes (22,000 to 26,400 pounds).
So, fully grown mammoths, particularly the Columbian mammoths, could be massive animals, towering over today's elephants in terms of both height and weight.
