How do giant pandas attract their mates?
Giant pandas are solitary animals and generally only interact with each other to mate. Males will use their scent to attract females, marking trees and rocks with their urine and rubbing their bodies against surfaces to leave their scent behind. Females will also mark their territory with their urine and scent glands, and they may respond to a male's scent by making noises or approaching him. When two pandas meet, they will typically go through a series of behaviors to determine if they are compatible, including sniffing, licking, and play fighting. If both pandas are interested in mating, the male will mount the female and insert his penis into her vagina. The pair will remain in this position for several minutes, and the male will ejaculate. After mating, the pandas will typically go their separate ways.
