Do retreivers have hair or fur?

Retrievers have fur.

While the terms "hair" and "fur" are sometimes used interchangeably, there is a difference:

* Hair is typically shorter, finer, and grows in patches. It's found on humans, primates, and some other mammals.

* Fur is longer, thicker, and grows all over the body. It's found on most mammals, including dogs.

Retrievers have the characteristic thick, dense fur that provides insulation and protection.
