What is rarest animal?

It's impossible to definitively say which animal is the rarest because:

* Population data is constantly changing: Species numbers fluctuate due to habitat loss, poaching, climate change, and other factors.

* Some species are very poorly understood: We don't have accurate counts for many animals, especially those in remote locations.

However, some animals are considered critically endangered and have extremely small populations. Here are a few examples:

* Amur Leopard: With fewer than 100 individuals left in the wild, the Amur Leopard is one of the rarest big cats.

* Javan Rhino: There are estimated to be only about 60 Javan Rhinos left in the wild, making them the most endangered rhino species.

* Vaquita: The Vaquita is a small porpoise found only in the Gulf of California, with less than 10 individuals believed to remain.

* Mountain Gorilla: While their numbers have increased slightly in recent years, Mountain Gorillas are still critically endangered with only about 1,000 individuals left in the wild.

* Saola: Also known as the "Asian Unicorn," the Saola is a large mammal found only in Vietnam and Laos. There have been very few confirmed sightings, and its population size is unknown.

It's important to remember that all critically endangered species are facing an urgent threat of extinction. Conservation efforts are crucial to their survival.
