What type of fur does a penguin have?

Penguins don't have fur! They have feathers, just like other birds.

However, their feathers are specially adapted for life in the water:

* Dense and waterproof: They have a layer of overlapping feathers that trap air, making them buoyant and keeping them warm.

* Short and stiff: This helps them streamline their bodies for efficient swimming.

* Preening: Penguins spend a lot of time preening their feathers to keep them clean and in good condition.

So, while they might look furry, they're actually covered in a beautiful and efficient layer of feathers!
