What are red pandas predators?

Red pandas, despite their name, are not closely related to giant pandas and are actually more closely related to raccoons and weasels. Due to their arboreal lifestyle and the fact they are primarily active during the day, they have fewer predators than many other species.

Here are some of the known predators of red pandas:

* Leopards: Leopards are a major threat to red pandas, especially in areas where their habitats overlap.

* Snow leopards: In the higher elevations of their range, snow leopards can also prey on red pandas.

* Clouded leopards: Another threat, particularly in Southeast Asia.

* Wild dogs (Dholes): Packs of dholes can sometimes hunt red pandas.

* Yellow-throated martens: These smaller predators might occasionally prey on young or weak red pandas.

* Eagles and other large birds of prey: These birds may occasionally capture young or unwary red pandas.

It's important to remember that red pandas are often more vulnerable to human threats, such as habitat loss, poaching, and the illegal pet trade, than to natural predators.
