Instructions
Farm the slugs, if possible. Feed them the best nutrients to ensure that they have balanced diets and that they are as healthy as possible. If you cannot farm your own slugs, purchase slugs at a store. Ask what they were fed and whether or not they are healthy. Again, if you cannot or do not wish to find slugs this way, search nearby woods or marshes for slugs.
Order slugs that are pre-killed if possible. This will make it easier for your rose haired tarantula to eat them. If you are farming your own slugs, don't worry. Mice and other animals should be pre-killed because they can attack and harm your tarantula. It is unlikely that live slugs will do the same.
Remove the slugs from their shells if they are still attached to them. If you do not, the live slugs may curl up into their shells and will eventually die there, making it impossible for your tarantula to get to them. If you get your slugs pre-killed, they should not still be in their shells.
Place the slugs into your tarantulas tank and allow the spider time to corner, kill (if applicable) and eat its prey. If the tarantula is not hungry, it will not eat the slugs. Remove any uneaten slugs after 24 hours.

Chilean Rose Haired tarantulas are commonly found in and near Chile. They grow to around five or six inches in length and are carnivorous. These spiders are nomadic, solitary and nocturnal but are some of the most common spiders to have as pets. They typically enjoy eating crickets and mice, but they are also known to eat invertebrates such as worms, roaches and slugs.
