How to Make a Habitat for a Land Snail

The term land snail relates to any variety of small snail that lives exclusively on land. They are often considered garden pests, as they leave slime trails wherever they go. However, you can bring snails indoors for observation or as classroom pets. While you can order land snails from science companies, you can also catch them yourself in wooded areas on cool mornings. Before bringing your snails home, prepare their habitat for them.

    • 4

Fill a spray bottle with water.

    • 5

Mist the interior of the terrarium with water to keep the humidity high.
