Instructions

    • 1

Secure land for your skunk farm. You will most likely need to buy the land. It should be big enough to accommodate a building for raising the skunks, and should also be big enough for outdoor recreation areas for the skunks.

    • 2

Designate a building for your skunk farm. This building should have several rooms, including a room where the skunks will be kept that is comfortable, and has ample cages and confinement areas. You should also have a sterile operating room where de-scenting can occur. You might also want to have a lobby where people can come to adopt your skunks.

    • 3

Furnish the building. Remember that skunks are just as loving and just as needful as dogs or cats. Keep this in mind as you design play areas, boarding areas and breeding areas.

    • 4

Purchase some skunks to start your farm. They should be young, and should be de-scented. At least two females and two males are needed for a breeding program.

    • 5

Carefully decide on a breeding schedule for skunks.

    • 6

When you have pregnant mothers, separate them from the males. Care for the mothers before and during the whelping process and ensure that they have a safe and comfortable place to raise their offspring.

    • 7

De-scented baby skunks at about 4 weeks old. Also, spay or neuter any baby skunks that are not included in your breeding program.

    • 8

Choose several babies to continue your breeding program.

    • 9

Board the skunks carefully and safely until they have been sold for new homes.
