Instructions

Select the location. If you are in the desert, select a site with a tree present. Close to your fence it is better. Build your cage around the tree so the Iguana has some shade. Put the rocks in next to the tree and some big rocks out near the sunny side. Iguanas bask in the sun on the rocks so include ones that are flat on top.

Dig a small area about a foot to make a little pond. It will look nice and the iguana can have water when he wants. Put some water plants in it and fill it with the garden hose. If you wish you can leave the garden hose so all you the next time the water is low, is to turn the tap.

Paint the wood all over so it stays well in the environment. Take the wood and bury it into the ground about a foot. In fact dig a one foot trench all around where you are putting the posts. Then attach the wire mesh to the posts and let it go a foot in the ground as well. Once you have finished building the cage the Iguana will not be able to get out.

Fill the dirt back in to the trench. Now for the gate, build a gate out of wood and chicken wire next to the fence so only one side is covered with the chicken wire, and the gate gives you access to the cage.

You can leave the top open but just nail some wood between posts to give them strength. Cross pieces of wood for the posts to be able to stand straight. Then make sure everything gets covered with the chicken wire so the Iguana cannot come out.

Finish up by removing all the dirt left over and load it into the wheelbarrow, then after that clean up everything lying about. Take your Iguana and put him in his new home.
