Things You'll Need
- Computer Internet access Spider
Instructions
Visit the Spider Identification website. This website contains pictures and information relating to the most common spiders found in the United States. Look through the information they provide to see if you can identify the spiders found in your area.
Take a digital photograph of the spider you find and submit it to the Spider Identification website with an email containing as much information as possible. It might take several weeks or even a few months to get a response back or for your picture to be featured on the site.
Spend some time looking through the pictures on the What's That Bug website. This is one of the best websites around for identifying bugs around the world. Enter spider in their search engine box or enter the identifying characteristics.
Send an email with a digital photograph of the What's That Bug Website if you can't find information relating to your particular spider on their website. The owners of this site sometimes take quite awhile to answer responses. They can also be a bit rude if you send them pictures of a spider that's already listed on the site.
Call an exterminator if you absolutely cannot find any information relating to the spiders in your area and if they're a nuisance or are bothering your family. The exterminator can identify the particular type and let you know if the bug needs to be eliminated or if you can live with them.
