How many American pikas are in captivity?

As of my last update in September 2021, there were at least 14 American pikas in captivity in North American zoos and research institutions, according to available information. However, it's possible that there may be additional pikas in other facilities that I am not aware of. This number is based on records from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS). It's important to note that this number may not be comprehensive and may change over time as animal populations are managed.
