How many endangered animals in the UK?
There are an estimated 15,000 endangered species in the UK, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. This includes species such as the red squirrel, hedgehog, puffin, corncrake, sand lizard, great crested newt and Atlantic salmon.
