Is a red panda herbivore or carnivore?
The red panda (Ailurus fulgens) is primarily a herbivore, but it has a diet that includes both plant and animal matter, making it an omnivore. While bamboo shoots and leaves form the majority of its diet, the red panda also consumes fruits, insects, small vertebrates, and even bird eggs. They have adapted to their bamboo diet by having a specialized "false thumb" that helps them grip and strip bamboo stalks.
