Is the ring necked pheasant aggressive?

The ring-necked pheasant is generally a non-aggressive bird, although males may become territorial and aggressive during the breeding season, which typically occurs in the spring. During this time, males may engage in courtship displays and fights to establish and defend their territories. These displays and fights usually involve posturing, feather ruffling, and vocalizations, but physical contact is rare. Outside the breeding season, ring-necked pheasants are typically peaceful and can be found in mixed-sex groups.
